Since 1 January 2025, the Electronic Communications Act section 3-15 has required consent that is valid under the GDPR. The Norwegian Data Protection Authority and Nkom enforce the rules jointly. The most common mistakes are easy to make: tracking scripts load before the user has consented, the reject button is hidden behind settings, or accept is a large green button while reject is a grey link. Each of these makes the consent invalid.

Will my website be guaranteed lawful?+
Samtykkr gives you a consent solution that is correct under the Electronic Communications Act section 3-15 and the Data Protection Authority's guidance. Responsibility for the whole website's compliance rests with you as the owner, and depends on correct setup and which services the site uses. Samtykkr makes the consent correct and helps you get the rest in place.
Is Samtykkr a Google-certified CMP?+
Samtykkr implements Google Consent Mode v2 directly, which is correct for sites that use analytics and advertising as an advertiser, that is, the vast majority of Norwegian business sites. Sites running programmatic ad sales via Google AdSense or Ad Manager need a Google-certified CMP with IAB TCF, which Samtykkr does not currently provide.
Do you support Google Consent Mode v2?+
Yes. The default is denied for all categories, and updates when the user consents. We run Basic mode, which sends no data to Google before consent.
Bokmål and Nynorsk?+
Yes, both, with English as a fallback. The banner and settings are available in all three.
Does it work with caching and page builders?+
Yes. The banner is lightweight and reads client-side, so it does not break caching or Core Web Vitals, and works with WP Rocket, LiteSpeed and common page builders.
What about other CMS platforms than WordPress?+
The engine is CMS-agnostic. The WordPress plugin is the first package. Get in touch for other platforms.
Where is consent data stored?+
On your own website. The consent log lives in your own WordPress database, not with us or in a cloud abroad. Pro can export an audit PDF for documentation.
